Nope. OEX represents the ticker symbol for the S&P 100 index. If you wanted to look up the current trading price for the index, or buy or sell options based on it, you would use that designation.
The S&P 100 is like the cool kids' table for the S&P 500 (the cool kids' table for the overall market). It's like the VIP room for the VIP room. The OEX represents the biggest, most influential companies.
