The notion is kinda the same in the financial application. The tide or trend or momentum is strong. Like The Force. It's hard to stem it. Sometimes, a market wants to go up oh so badly. You want it to be valued cheaper, maybe because you want to invest the cash you've been hoarding on the sidelines at lower prices.
Good luck stemming the tide of a market that voraciously wants to eat higher and higher. About as trying to be Bammy in a year where Saban has that look.
