- It takes him about eleven days, but Mark finally reaches Pathfinder, which comes in two parts: a lander and a rover.
- The lander is the real prize because it's "the part that can communicate with Earth" (9.51). The rover (dubbed the Sojourner) isn't too bad either... because it'll at least give him a bunch of spare parts to work with.
