As a short-term gig, writing greeting cards might be a great idea. If you're looking for career longevity, though...probably not. Unless you claw your way to the top of one of the billion-dollar industry giants like Hallmark or American Greetings, completely overhaul their business model, updating it for the modern, tech-savvy consumer (something that Hallmark is already trying to do), there's not much hope for you.
