Qualifications

Qualifications

Other than possessing athletic ability and all your major limbs, there really aren't any specific job qualifications you need to meet. It's pretty doubtful a hockey scout or coach is going to be overly concerned with what your college major was or if you have a degree at all, for that matter. Heck, considering the international makeup of pro teams these days, speaking English isn't even an absolute necessity.

You try out for a team, you either make it or you don't. You go practice, get some more coaching, hit the gym hard, and then try again. Rinse, wash, repeat until you make a team. Or settle down in your day job.
