Fame
Sure there must be teachers turned principals turned educational revolutionists who actually become famous. Can you name a single one?
Chances are if your focus is simply to become a special education teacher, you won't be hearing your name chanted among a crowd of thousands anytime soon.
Maybe you'll take an interest in educational policy (if you burn out on teaching)—which may lead you to conduct research and write books on it. Will that get you some recognition? Possibly. Will it make you famous? Don't count on it.
