Talk about an intense bedtime reading session. But seriously, what is a covenant without some kind of guarantee? What holds a contract together? Mutual faith. And in the ancient world, that meant blood. Literally.

What are the terms of the new covenant, and how do miracles come into play? Is there a covenant without miracles? And how do other covenants come into play? Does God just have to be first among many gods (monolatry), or does he have to be the only one (monotheism)?
