Where Children Sleep

James Mollison took some pics of kids and their bedrooms. They come from all over the world and from every socio-economic class, and they show a wide variety of interests, hobbies, and lifestyles. They show ways we're all alike and ways we're totally different. You can use the pictures in so many ways—to accompany the inference activity, for students to use in a compare/contrast essay, as a writing prompt, or to start a discussion on human rights, the human condition, inequality, or similarities and differences between people regardless of class.

Excerpt

Where Children Sleep—stories of diverse children around the world, told through portraits and pictures of their bedrooms. When Fabrica asked me to come up with an idea for engaging with children's rights, I found myself thinking about my bedroom: how significant it was during my childhood, and how it reflected what I had and who I was.
