Well, no need to panic, because the ring of fire we're talking about isn't some sort of

Nope, we're talking about the very first, original Ring of Fire: a chain of volcanoes

around the Pacific Ocean.

So…yeah, it's just a tad older than hula hoops are… [The ring of fire location shown on a map]

And believe it or not, many of those volcanoes are still active to this day… [Volcano erupting]

Naturally, active volcanoes can cause problems wherever they are, and Hawaii is no different. [People at the beach]

After all, it's hard to enjoy your tropical paradise when lava is flowing from these volcanoes,

But on the islands of Hawaii, this lava also serves a positive purpose: when it flows into

the surrounding water, it cools down and turns into solid rock, effectively creating new

land and expanding the islands.
